Individualized Small-Group Teaching Programs with Whitfield Reaves
Come learn on Maui!
Whitfield offers advanced sports acupuncture teaching programs in Hawaii. This small-group training is designed for cohorts of two, three, or four practitioners. Each six-hour program covers one of the three body zones as outlined in the content of the Practicum Series. Along with direct supervision of acupuncture techniques, palpation, and point location, there will be time for clinical questions and case studies. We consider this a master class in needle technique.
This program is for review and repetition of the remarkable point protocols taught by Whitfield Reaves in The Acupuncture Sports Medicine Apprenticeship Program. Teaching groups will be available in Hawaii from June 2025 through May 2026. If you are an individual and want to be put on a list with others forming a cohort group, please let us know.
Required: Completion of The Acupuncture Sports Medicine Apprenticeship Program (60 hours).
Continuing education: 6 CEUs/PDAs for each six-hour program
Cost: Varies depending upon the size of the group.

The Practicum Series
The Practicum Series offers supervised practice of location and needle technique for the sports acupuncture practitioner. However, the complete three-day course is presently not scheduled. This hands-on supervision and small group training gives practitioners who have learned clinical protocols from Whitfield Reaves in prior seminars or webinars a chance for review and practice.
Practicum 1: The Shoulder and Upper Extremity
Practicum 2: The Low Back and Hip
Practicum 3: The Lower Extremity
Required: Completion of The Acupuncture Sports Medicine Apprenticeship Program (60 hours) or the webinar series Mastering the Treatment of Injury and Pain (9 Courses, with CEUs).
For questions and when a program may be scheduled and available, let us hear from you.

And what to do after you complete The Apprenticeship Program?
We focus our energy on the Apprenticeship Program, and all of its amazingly useful treatment protocols in the clinic. That is our flagship teaching program, and we are all very product of the content and these beneficial treatments of injury and pain. There are some ways to proceed with your advanced learning after earning your Certificate of Achievement:
1. We recommend that the practitioner consider clinical practice as their most important "teacher". Integrate these points and protocols, and most importantly, practice so that precision of your point location and needle insertion results in excellent clinical results.
2. Consider the Individualized Small Group Teaching Programs with Whitfield on Maui.
3. Many practitioners take The Apprenticeship Program for a second time. Most find that they get new material and some of needed precision is supported by this process. We consider review and repetition to be the most effective path to mastery. Each of you can do this, with focus and diligence, indeed, can be done!
4. Use Whitfield's videos on Net of Knowledge for additional learning material.
5. The Practicum Series, while somewhat infrequent on our schedule, is a class specifically designed for location and needle practice for those who have completed the program.
